State of the Nation

25 Mar

First of all, let me adress something, its been forever since I have written anything, I know, and Im sorry. I’ve just had so much shit bottling up in my vast brilliant mind that I couldnt write, I didnt know what the fuck was gonna spew out of there. I tried sitting down countless times, and opening a blog and trying to get words out, and failing so miserably, that I would just close the computer, unable to post such garbage. I tried my normal writers block tricks, the peanut butter and ice water, the colbert report marathon, the swingers viewing. Nothing seemed to work. I couldnt find the voice I once had, and it was freaking me out, espcially cause this is around the one year birthday for this very site. Which I assure you wasnt a factor in my writers block, it auto renews and I dont pay attention to emails that look like spam. The point is, fuck who am I kidding, I dont know what the point is anymore than the next guy, but I do got some shit to say regaurding a ton of shit.

“St. Patrick’s Day” & The City of Roses

16 Mar

Last year, st patricks day was on a saturday, I was sore from getting a tattoo on my shin the day before, and had a group of people over slamming car bombs in my kitchen at the old apartment. Due to the progression of days and the leap year the actual holiday will happen tomorrow, which is a monday, which is a kind of shitty way to have one of the top drinking holidays of the year. But a few of us decided to head up to portland to hit the Kells tent, and see what kind of damage we would pull off.

Cooking with Jesse

Last night, on my way out to Monmouth, I was driving through this straight up nasty weather, grey as shit, heavy rain and hail, just awful conditions to be on the roads, which of course I loved, I just pushed on through like Cole Trickle and finally made it through the smoke with out crashing into Rowdy Burns. It was nasty weather though, and I dug it all, and at the very end of river, it got that odd patch of sunlight, where they skies around it are completely dark and ominous, and you can see the barren trees across the valley floor, and everything appears in black and white, the intense sunlight contrasts with the clouds in such an interesting way, I enjoy it alot. I hope that ends up being an analogy for all the shit we go through in life, only time will tell.

How I stumbled across time travel

15 Mar

So I was driving home from my moms house, and I felt a bit parched, so I thought I would head into the Kwik Stop, and get myself a tasty beverage for the rest of the drive home. I pulled into the oh so familiar parking lot, and turned off my car, which I never do in salem, but I was in a particularly rough part of Independence, and while I dont give a fuck if my car gets stolen, I have two iPods and probably 12 DVDs scattered across the back seat, and I’ve had DVDs stolen out of a car before, and It wasnt the best feeling in the world knowing that some of your kids are out there, cold and hungry, in some strangers house, who may not take proper care of them, or may not put them next to DVDs they belong with.

Shop talk

I’ve been slowing my DVD purchasing down to a halt, Ive been somewhat taken aback, by the recent format wars, which I unfortuantly picked the losing side of, and now I am stuck with a player and eleven movies which have now been rendered a dead technology, all the while, Im trying to decide to purchase a bunch of the HD dvd formats while I still can and while they are on sale, or waiting around, and just buying a Blu Ray player and starting a new collection, on the right platform. Its all rather stressful, and I dont want to really get into it all. In the last several weeks I have only manged 3 new DVD purchases, and they are as follows.
