The Rise of The Blazer Nation

23 Dec

Blazermania. Rip City Madness. Those are part of the mystique of being a Blazer fan. That long gone memory of a time, or a place, where everyone talked Blazers, you would see people wearing red and black all over the place, flags flew from car windows, people would stop you on the streets of portland asking who won the game as a flood of fans began to disperse through the city to find the destinations for the night, a time and a memory so time worn and fragmented by the anguish we were put through with on court antics and off court moments of complete Idiocracy, that we can only remember bits of the exitement once echoing through the ghostly presense of the old memorial coliseum.

The Sound of A Collective Heartbeak

13 Sep

Man today sucked, today was a shitty shitty shitty fucking day. Work was normal, nothing big, worked out to a classic episode of the OC, aside from what happened just after 11am it was a normal day. At 11 am I checked Oregonlive for blazer news. Saw the headline “Oden out for 2007-08 Season” and my heart sank, my stoumach started to hurt, and I heard the sound of hundreds of thousands of hearts beaking all at one time. Some didnt know at the time, but that didnt matter, I heard it. I heard every one of them being crushed. Terrible Terrible news. Just awful. I dont even really have the words. Crushing, I had to call my brother, and talk about it, he didnt know, so I had to tell him, it was like telling someone that a loved one has passed away. Not that I have ever had to do that, but fuck this sucked. I guess it was probably better that I called and told him, cause if he saw it on his own, he wouldnt have had anyone to talk to about it instantly, so he might have felt lost, not unlike benji in Benji: The Hunted.

All things Fall

This is one of those blogs that I have been saying I have been excited to write, Ive been working on putting together the info that I needed to have so I could do it effectivly and to my own personal standards. Its not a falll movie preview, its got more to it than that, which you will see in a bit. Im sitting here writing while I watch the PGA championship, so If I interject with random golf statements, you will know why.

Seattle Trip 07

07 Aug

I was gone this weekend, I went out of town for some much needed time away from the shit, so I can get the shit out of my head and be more focused on the other shit, basically, I got too much shit going on, and not enough shit to help clear out the shit, so I leave, I head out of town, head up to Seattle for some Boston Red Sox games, just like last summer. Which has become a fun way to spend a weekend away, and I intend to do it again next year, unless its the same weekend as Sea Fair, then Im gonna sit on my couch and watch the games, and pretend Im up there. Ill get more into that later.

On a rainy day in June.

First of all, I have officially been on vacation since 3:38pm today, and it feels great. Secondly, roughly 1 hour after I was on vacation an era ended, and a new one began. The NBA draft is over, and what a ride it has been. It started back on May 22nd when the NBA gods gave me the greatest birthday present ever. Atleast I thought that at the time. Truth be told, its true, but it caused me to read roughly 300 times the amount of draft rumors, trade rumors, sports articles than I normally do, and thats a big deal cause normally I read a shit ton about the NBA draft. Literally on more than one occasion, I would be reading an article, or a trade rumor, while listening to an audio interview. Im glad its over. My head was on the verge of exploding. It really was.
